PART 1:

The 1st part of the audition is a test in your main subject (concert).

For the test in main subject, the applicants will have to bring along their own ensemble (min. 3 persons including the applicant).

If required, the academy may assist in finding accompanists.

For practical reasons, it will be necessary to use the PA-unit of the academy. A list of other equipment may be procured from the study administration.

Duration:

Concert: 15 minutes
Voting: 5-10 minutes
Total: 20-25 minutes

One grade is given according to the 7-point grading scale.

The main subject will be judged by a committee consisting of:

1 external examiner, 1 in-house examiner,1 head examiner

    After this test, the jury will select applicants for the 2nd part of the audition.

    The 2nd part of the audition consists of tests in ensemble-playing with an appointed group, a written test and an individual oral test in eartraning, piano & singing.

       

      PART 2:

      The jury selects a number of applicants from the 1st part to go through to the 2nd part of the tests.

      The academy will put an ensemble at the applicant's disposal, with which the applicant must rehearse 2 music pieces.

      You will also be tested in:

      • melodic imitation
      • playing by ear/improvisation
      • sight singing/playing

      Duration: approximately 25 min., including voting
      Judgment: You are graded on a scale of 7.
      Jury: 2 in-house examiners

      The test is only passed if you achieve a minimum of 02.

      INDIVIDUAL TEST IN EARTRAINING, PIANO & SINGING:

      Duration, including preparation and voting: approx. 30 min.

      1. ear traning - including notation proficiency
      2. rhythmic imitation
      3. sight playing (30 minutes preparation is given)
      4. a song to the applicant's own accompaniment (duration: 2 minutes)

      Assessment: You are given 3 individual grades on a scale of 7 for the following:

      1. ear training & rhythmic imitation
      2. piano
      3. singing

      Jury: 2 in-house examiners
      The test is only passed if you achieve minimum 02 in each of the three tests.

      Collective written theory test

      Duration: approximately 45 min.
      Judgment: You are graded on a scale of 7
      Jury: 1 in-house examiner

      The test is only passed if you achieve a minimum of 02.
