About the programme

As an organ player, you learn to use the many possibilities the instrument puts in your hands and feet, enabling you to become the heart, brain and soul of the organ.

In addition to organ lessons, your programme consists of a number of subjects giving you a theoretical foundation and the ability to approach music from other perspectives than purely performing. You will also be introduced to the administrative and PR aspects of a musician's work during the course.

The Master's programme aims to provide you with the specialized knowledge, skills and competencies needed to perform as an organist and/or performer at the highest level.

It is also a requirement if you want to work as an organist in large urban churches in Denmark.

Besides your lessons in your main instrument, the master's programme also focuses on special minor subjects such as hymnology, liturgy and organology, and on teaching didactics, psychology and theoretical pedagogy.

You will also be trained in entrepreneurship, where you will learn how to manage a career as a performing musician and educator and how to transform ideas into targeted activities.

Schedule

Your schedule will vary from week to week throughout the year. Some subjects are only available for limited periods during the year, while other subjects are available all year round. In addition to the scheduled classes, you should plan to set aside time for practice and unscheduled study activities such as masterclasses and workshops.

Below is an example of what a schedule might look like in a random week during the year.
