The spostgraduate programme at the Danish National Academy of Music is for those who want to further their education to pursue a career at the highest artistic level. The focal point of your soloist studies is partly a self-selected artistic project and partly further development of your skills on your main instrument.

About the programme
The soloist program aims to further educate you to perform at the highest artistic level. This means, among other things, that you must be able to meet the professional demands of the labor market.
In addition, your soloist studies include training in artistic research and entrepreneurship.
As a jazz/pop soloist the development and nurturing of your unique talent and the work on your chosen project are the central elements of your education, which is reflected in the organization of the study course.
Schedule
Your schedule will vary from week to week throughout the year. Some subjects are only available for limited periods during the year, while other subjects are available throughout the year. In addition to the scheduled classes, you should plan to set aside time for practicing and for unscheduled study activities such as masterclasses, workshops and concerts. When you do not have scheduled classes, you can reserve available rooms for practicing alone or with other students.

Typical questions and practical info
Conservatory education in Denmark consists of a 3-year bachelor's degree, a 2-year master's degree and an additional 2-year soloist program.
The postgraduate programs require that you have a master's degree from a Danish or foreign music conservatory - or have equivalent qualifications.
For the entrance exams, you must demonstrate your skills as a musician and explain your artistic project.
The entrance exams are in week 17.
All scheduled classes are generally held at SDMK in Odense between 8 am and 6 pm. However, in connection with orchestra projects, masterclasses and other extraordinary teaching, classes may be held outside this time frame.
